LOCTITE® 596™ is an acetoxy silicone sealant designed for gasketing and sealing applications. It cures at room temperature upon exposure to moisture, forming a tough, flexible, waterproof, and oil-resistant silicone rubber bond.

Application Instructions
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean and free from grease.
- Moisture Curing: Begins immediately upon exposure to air; assemble parts within a few minutes.
- Curing Time: Allow the bond to cure for seven days before applying heavy service loads.
- Cleanup: Excess material can be removed with non-polar solvents.
General Information
- Restrictions: Not recommended for use in pure oxygen or oxygen-rich environments; avoid as a sealant for chlorine or strong oxidizing materials.
- Corrosion Warning: The curing process may cause corrosion on certain surfaces.
Storage
- Optimal Storage Conditions: Store in a dry location in unopened containers. Ideal conditions are 8 °C to 21 °C; storage outside this range may affect product properties.
- Contamination Warning: Do not return used material to the original container to prevent contamination.
